The west half of the country is dominated by the snow-capped, rugged Andes mountain range. Sandwiched between the Andes is Altiplano, a high plateau where half of the population lives. As we go eastward land flattens into a plain called the Oriente which comprises grasslands, wetlands and dense forests of the Amazon.
History of Bolivia
